Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1 or TA1) is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring 28-amino-acid peptide associated with thymic function and immune regulation. It has been studied for several decades for its potential influence on innate and adaptive immune signaling, T-cell activity, dendritic-cell function, and inflammatory regulation.

A major area of Thymosin Alpha-1 research involves immune-system communication. Experimental studies have examined its interactions with dendritic cells, macrophages, natural killer cells, and different T-cell populations. Researchers have also investigated signaling involving Toll-like receptors (TLRs), which participate in the body's recognition and response to microbial and cellular signals.
